Before the razzle-dazzle of opening day, weary crews of a travelling Midway set up attractions to celebrate July 1, 2016 Canada Day at Stouffville's annual Strawberry Festival in Southern Ontario.

Midways are about bold colours. Gaming prizes feature popular Disney characters, trinkets and baubles. Late-day sun of a beautiful June evening (before tomorrow's crowds) is an opportune time to photograph the colouful spectacle.

Opening day attractions get a boost from loud music, bull horns, bells and whistles, roaring motors, candy floss, spilled popcorn and sounds of money changing hands.

In the tradition of circus Midways, gullible parents open their wallets for a chance for their child to win a prize!
